Projects

Johnston County is financing several public school projects for the Johnston County Public School System with $177 million general obligation bonds approved by County voters at a referendum held in November 2022, including a new elementary school (Swift Creek Elementary School), a new high school (Wilson’s Mills High School), a renovation and addition at an existing elementary school (Cooper Academy), and security improvements at all schools in the public school system.
